Black Market Guide
Unlocking the Black Market
The Black Market opens after any Delver on your account reaches Floor 30 for the first time. In the Lobby Shop, speak to the Dancing Shopkeeper and ask to see something different. You transport to the Pocket Dimension—a dim void with floating debris, lamp posts, and stalls manned by Smile Clan henchmen leading to Kingpin’s throne.
Kingpin operates the market. Smile Clan members mean no harm per in-game dialogue—they are loyal henchmen. Interact with Kingpin to browse thirteen Black Market starter items more expensive and complex than Lobby Shop gear.
What You Can Buy
Black Market items include advanced tools like Spectral Blindfold and Spirit Shackles among thirteen total starters. They skew toward high-skill effects that reward players who already mastered Floor 20 bosses and mid-game entities. Star ratings within the market denote internal quality tiers—compare before buying.
Consumables may also appear in Black Market contexts depending on patch—prioritize starters that complete build trios first.
Shopping Strategy
Arrive at Floor 30 with savings. Buy one item that synergizes with your proven Lobby Shop duo before collecting vanity purchases. Test new Black Market gear on standard runs before Daily Mode attempts—forced daily loadouts may not include your new toy immediately.
Meta progression guide covers long-term unlock order. Best Builds page lists trios incorporating Black Market staples for late game.
Lore and Atmosphere
The Pocket Dimension’s disconnected door and pale floating debris reinforce Depth Spelunking’s uncanny Void aesthetic. Black Market access marks a milestone—Delvers leaving early-game behind for serious depth pushes and Bestiary chase items.
