Best Starter Items
First Purchases
New Delvers should buy items that reduce time on floor and clarify objectives. Task-highlighting starters cut wandering—a primary death cause on early floors. Cheap fear mitigation from consumables pairs with one starter that improves map awareness or movement.
Avoid buying three expensive items immediately. Spread money across two starters plus consumable stock for Floor 10–20 learning runs.
Boss Preparation Items
Floor 20 Envy rewards speed consumables and line-of-sight knowledge more than raw damage items. Mannequin floors reward co-op coordination; solo buys stealth and crouch-friendly tools. Sloth’s Cathedral benefits from task speed above all—slow trios fail the four-minute thirty-second window.
Horns of Sloth requires Bestiary completion, not shop purchase—plan Sloth repeats if chasing that reward.
Black Market Priorities
After Floor 30, visit Kingpin once with a shopping list from our Best Builds page. Buy one item that completes a trio before collecting duplicates. Black Market items include Spectral Blindfold, Spirit Shackles, and other high-complexity tools documented in the Black Market category.
Thirteen Black Market starters exist—more expensive and mechanically dense than Lobby Shop gear. They define late-game but are not mandatory for first Floor 30 clear.
Badge and Bestiary Items
Exclusive items from badges and Bestiary fill gaps money cannot buy. Track badge requirements in Roblox and Terminal progress for entity completion. These items often become S-tier once obtained but are long-term goals, not day-one targets.
