How to Beat Mannequins
The Mall Floor Setup
Mannequins appear on The Mall—a huge plus-shaped under-construction retail floor—from Floor 15 onward naturally or via Big Bad upgrade detours that do not increment floor count. Live mannequins have red meaty waists versus inert display models. Tasks count is high in a tight layout with long vents offering solo escape routes.
There is no hard time limit but you must complete all tasks while surviving mannequin hunts. Power flickers cause blackouts where mannequins teleport positions—some may not move, others relocate unpredictably.
Observation Mechanics
Mannequins hunt by sight and sound but freeze completely when directly observed. Critical detail: avatar facing direction keeps them still, not camera angle alone on PC—align your character toward threats while tasking. Extended observation increases stun duration up to five seconds multiplayer or seven solo. After you look away they remain frozen two seconds solo or four seconds base before moving.
When mannequins reach your last known position without relocating you they idle. Use vents and distance in solo; use coordinated eyes in co-op.
Co-op Strategy
Recommended five-plus teams with at least three taskers and two dedicated mannequin watchers who maintain line-of-sight on live mannequins while others task. Constant communication prevents off-angle approaches during power flickers.
Stick together—The Mall punishes isolated Delvers caught off-guard around corners. Big Bad detour farming for Bestiary should intentionalize Mall spawns with prepared roles.
Solo Strategy
Crouch to remain unheard when not observed. Never sprint blindly past blind corners. Use long vents to create distance when breaking sight fails. During flickers, reassess all visible mannequins before moving.
Completing Mall can queue Sin of Sloth next if spawn conditions align—finish tasks promptly post-Mall. Watch embedded video for solo routing demonstrations.
